Der Klassiker
This project centered on the design and execution of an original, dynamic animated promotional package for Sky Sports Germany's coverage of Der Klassiker—the iconic showdown between Borussia Dortmund (BVB) and FC Bayern München.
The core creative challenge was to capture the intensity of the rivalry. This involved developing a suite of vibrant, high-impact design layouts that strategically mixed player imagery, club colors, and bold typographic treatments. I conducted extensive testing to ensure the animation of the layouts was dynamic and reactive, mirroring the energy and movement of a live football game.
While adhering to the Sky Sports corporate identity provided a clear framework, I leveraged the freedom to experiment, ultimately delivering a visually striking promo that meets broadcast standards while elevating the match's profile.

The visuals present four distinct design layouts that serve as the foundation of the promo package, effectively utilizing club branding, sharp color contrast, and bold typography to communicate the significance of the Der Klassiker event.
The top half focuses on graphic energy and match details. The top-left panel is a pure typographic statement, stacking the masked word "KLASSIKER" in the yellow and black of Borussia Dortmund to suggest scale and dynamic motion. The top-right panel is the essential broadcast graphic, featuring the players positioned for a clash against a background that sharply gradients from BVB's yellow/black to Bayern's red/white colors.
The hero-shots focus for each club, ensuring visual balance and brand saturation. The bottom-left features a Bayern München player against a dominant Red background, overlaid with subtle, ghosted repetitions of the title text and the club crest. This deep red establishes an intense, solid foundation. Mirroring this, the bottom-right features a Dortmund player against a contrasting Black and Yellow background, also using the repeated title text as a dynamic texture and including the BVB crest and a "MATCHDAY" identifier. Together, these layouts consistently use the teams' visual identities as the primary design elements, setting a dramatic, high-stakes visual stage.
