Smart C11 Film
I contributed to the MAKE agency's film project for the Smart C11. This promotional video was designed to engage viewers by showcasing the vehicle's unique design language, with a focus on its sleek lines, while also demonstrating a range of the car's essential features. The footage displayed above features the specific scenes that were part of my work for the final film.
I was responsible for developing and executing the line animation sequence, a key visual feature of the Smart C11 promotional film. The objective was to bring the car's inherent design elements to life—translating its static contours into dynamic motion on screen. I was able to achieve this by strategically leveraging the vehicle's distinct color and design scheme, animating the lines to powerfully visually embody the car's velocity and energetic strength and enhance its overall on-screen presence.

Achieving the desired look required extensive experimentation. I explored several technical approaches, such as particle systems, spline-based animation, and dynamic rope simulation. While these provided initial insights, the highest quality and most versatile solution was found using a tracer object. This method allowed for the procedural creation of lines tied directly to the car's motion, with the added benefit of being able to strategically place these tracers across the vehicle's body to effectively support the composition of every individual scene.
